Why Do We Get Sick?

The Solution for Freedom and Health

Dr med. Horst Müller · Second edition, 2026 · Law of Life NZ Ltd

Dr Horst Müller has practised as an ear, nose and throat specialist in Weinheim, Germany, for twenty years. This book comes out of thousands of consultations in which he set each patient's illnesses beside their life story — their closest relationships, their losses, the upheavals they had lived through — and looked at what came first.

He argues that illness so often follows an emotional event because of one conflict every person carries, and that the way out is a new life rather than a new remedy. It is the book behind our seminars, and the one we would give someone first.

The author has made it free to share for non-commercial ministry, so it is here to download and pass on.

“It arose from my need as a doctor to understand the underlying causes of illnesses. I gained my insights from direct contact with patients, from many thousands of consultations, not from external descriptions.”

The Law of Life

Healing from Disease, Depression, and Damaged Relationships

Mark Sandoval, M.D. · Revision 2, 2026

Dr Mark Sandoval developed The Law of Life as a lecture series at Uchee Pines Institute in Alabama. The book began as the notes his audiences asked for, and it still reads like the lectures: plain, direct, and illustrated with his own slides.

Its subject is healing from disease, depression and damaged relationships, and its argument is that the three are connected. He treats love as a need as real as water or food, and asks where a person is getting it from.

Read the introduction and the whole first chapter free. For the complete book, write to us and we will tell you how to get a copy.

“If you see bad fruit on your tree, don't pluck off the fruit. Dig in the ground to find out what is going on with the roots and the soil. That is where you will find the cause of your disease.”

The health library

Our teaching also draws on the writings of E. G. White, all of which are published free by the Ellen G. White Estate. We have picked out the seven books on health we would start with, and where to read them.

Open the health library

We also hold a large library of recorded teaching — sermons, interviews and studies. It is not yet catalogued well enough to publish, and we would rather say so than put up a page that half works.

Ask for anything you cannot find
