Why we work this way
Everything works in a cycle
One person, not three problems. Spirit, mind and body work together, the way water moves through nature: taking, and giving on.
Most help is organised around one part of a person. A doctor treats the body, a counsellor the mind, a church the spirit, and the person moves between them carrying the whole problem.
We think that division is a mistake. Our deed commits us to the principles of the Law of Life, “as outlined by the writings of E G White and the insights of Dr Horst Mueller”. This page shows the simplest of those insights, and why it shapes everything we do.

Nothing is made for itself
Dr Müller calls it the Basic Law of Nature. It has two halves, and everything he teaches grows from them.
“It states that nothing exists or functions by itself, and nothing is made for itself (i.e. for its own benefit).”
Dr Horst Müller, Why Do We Get Sick?, p. 11
So every part of creation is a channel. It takes from the part before it, uses what it receives, and gives it on to the next.
“Every element, down to the smallest level, functions as a channel with an input and an output. It must “take” a substance such as energy at the input, use it and “give” it back in some modified form at the output.”
Dr Horst Müller, Why Do We Get Sick?, p. 11

The cycle in nature
The water cycle begins in the sea, and ends there
“What is remarkable about the cycles is that they must end where they begin. A memorable example is the water cycle, which begins in the sea and ends there. On its long journey through this cycle, water is the basis for the diverse life of humans, plants and animals.”
Dr Horst Müller, Why Do We Get Sick?, p. 13
The seawhere it begins and ends
Stage 1: EvaporationThe sun warms the sea, and water rises into the air as vapour.
Stage 2: CloudHigh above the land, the vapour cools and gathers into cloud.
Stage 3: RainThe cloud gives its water back to the land as rain.
Stage 4: WaterThe rain feeds everything that grows, then runs by streams and rivers home to the sea.
And so back to the sea, where it began.
“All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.”
Ecclesiastes 1:7
The cycle in a person
A person works the same way, and it begins in the spirit
Dr Müller teaches that the human being is a channel too, and that the cycle starts with what we think and decide. The body follows, and then reports back.
“Spirit and body act together like a player and his piano. Through thoughts and decisions, the spirit controls and sends electrical currents into the body.”
Dr Horst Müller, Why Do We Get Sick?, p. 46
Youspirit, mind and body
Stage 1: SpiritIt begins with our thoughts and decisions. The spirit sends them into the body, as a player sends music through a piano.
Stage 2: FeelingsThe first answer is an emotion: the body’s chemistry reports whether that thought was good for it.
Stage 3: BodyOnly after the thoughts do air, water and food come in, through the lungs and the stomach.
Stage 4: ReplyFrom the organs the news flows back, through the brain, to the spirit. The body is a mirror, and it cannot lie.
And so back to the spirit, where it began.
“Only after the thoughts do material elements such as air, water and food enter the functional cycle of the human being via the lungs, stomach etc. From the organs, the information flows back into the limbic system, then to the cerebral cortex and from there to the spirit, thus completing the functional cycle of the human being.”
Dr Horst Müller, Why Do We Get Sick?, p. 39
“Because the body is controlled by the spirit, it is a perfect mirror for the spirit. It is objective and cannot lie because it only ever passes on what it is given or done to it.”
Dr Horst Müller, Why Do We Get Sick?, p. 46
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22 Dr Müller points to this verse himself, in the same passage.
The Law of Life
Take, and give on
A cycle only keeps turning while every part passes on what it is given. A person is no different.
“Man is a channel; he must always take before he gives.”
Dr Horst Müller, Why Do We Get Sick?, p. 61
“All things Christ received from God, but He took to give. So in the heavenly courts, in His ministry for all created beings: through the beloved Son, the Father’s life flows out to all; through the Son it returns, in praise and joyous service, a tide of love, to the great Source of all. And thus through Christ the circuit of beneficence is complete, representing the character of the great Giver, the law of life.”
E. G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 21, quoted in Dr Mark Sandoval, The Law of Life, pp. 60–61
That is how the trust tries to work. Our deed puts it as “to by love serve, by taking from God and giving to others” (clause 2.2). We receive, and we pass it on: the teaching, the books, the time.

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”
Galatians 5:13
So we teach the whole person
Every one of our activities comes from this one conviction: a seminar, a class in nutrition, natural remedies or growing food, a conversation with someone going through a hard season. Read on for the principles behind it, and the work it has led to.
